The 2005 LS and GS models are propelled by a responsive 140-horsepower, 1.8-liter all-aluminum engine with ample acceleration. The high-revving, 170-horsepower engine in the Allroad Quattro GS-R features the Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control system (VTEC) which allows both impressive low-end torque and high-end power. For extracurricular G-force experiments, the VTEC™ engine in the Allroad Quattro Type R puts out an amazing 195 horsepower and redlines at 8400 rpm.
