An Anti-lock Braking System is available on the 2005 Elantra. This feature helps keep brakes from locking up during hard braking which enhances traction and control. Includes Traction Control System (TCS).1
PRIME MOVER
Elantra's 2.0-liter, 140 horsepower, 16-valve DOHC engine features multi-port fuel injection and a direct ignition system. What's more, it's been designed to deliver optimum performance with a minimum of scheduled maintenance.
AUTOMATIC
The optional 4-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission has the Hyundai Intelligent Vehicle Control (HIVC) system for improved shift quality and higher durability.

ENERGY ABSORBING
The steering column mechanism is designed to help protect the driver in a severe frontal collision by absorbing energy on impact.
3-POINT SEATBELT
3-point front seatbelt pretensioners lock the belt in the event of a moderate to severe frontal impact. This enhances airbag protection by properly positioning and securing the driver and front passenger. Built-in force limiters allow for a more gradual deceleration of the torso.
TRACTION CONTROL
A Traction Control System (TCS) is available on the Elantra. This feature enhances driver control in severe conditions like wet or snow-covered roads. The TCS activates upon detecting a loss of traction, and applies corrective action until traction is restored. Includes 4 channel/4 sensor Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).
