Perhaps the greatest luxury of all is peace of mind. The 2005 Diamante features an arsenal of safety technology to help keep you secure. Choose from the list on the right to continue.
Working in conjunction with the four-wheel disc brakes, standard anti-lock brakes (ABS) can skillfully balance each tire's traction on a slick surface, preserving steering control and vehicle stability during emergency braking. Whether you're rounding a curve or traveling straight ahead, ABS resists skidding and helps keep the vehicle steady when your foot is hard on the brakes. A driver might panic, but ABS won't.
As part of the safety cage in the Diamante, side-guard door beams offer an additional line of defense in a collision. Working with interior door padding, side-guard door beams are designed to resist intrusion into the cabin. They also act to direct crash energy into the safety cage structure and away from the driver and front passenger.
Front air bags are designed to work in conjunction with the 3-point safety belts to provide additional protection in certain frontal collisions.1 But please be advised that air bags are only fully effective if you are wearing your safety belts. Mitsubishi urges you and your passengers to always wear your safety belts, as they still provide you the greatest protection in the event of a collision.
Seats; 14-Way Adjustable (10-Way Power) Driver's Seat including Dual Diamante Power Height Adjustment, Diamante Power Adjustable Lumbar Support and Two-Position Memory.
Although the front and rear body sections of the 2005 Diamante are designed to absorb energy in a collision, the passengers are surrounded by a rigid steel cage that forms a solid perimeter around the cabin. From the base of the windshield to the rear axle, the safety cage is designed to resist deformation, while also channeling crash energy away from the passengers.
