With 250 horsepower and 260 foot-pounds of torque, the 4.0-liter Aurora V8 produces an impressive launch and instant throttle response over a wide range of speeds, for the ultimate in Aurora performance. Yet it idles so quietly, it comes with an interlock to prevent attempts to start an already-running engine. The 4.0-liter also offers a choice of normal or performance transmission operating modes.
Safety Cage
The Aurora’s safety cage is specially designed with crush zones, so the front and rear zones can “give” in the event of a collision - absorbing more of the impact energy and helping preserve passenger space. The new Aurora's 2005 safety cage is constructed using a new manufacturing process that reinforces the cage where the adjoining members meet, making the cage structure design stronger.
Air Bag System
Also new to the 2005 Aurora is a driver and front passenger side impact air bag system, which integrates the side impact air bags directly into the front seat backs. The safety belts are also built into the front seats providing more comfort.
